Man charged with murder of teenage jockeys
A man appeared in court this morning (Friday, 27 November), charged with the murder of two jockeys that died in a fire in Yorkshire in September. Teenage jockeys Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson died in the early hours on Saturday 5 September when their flats in Malton caught fire.Peter William Brown, 37, appeared before Scarborough Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 4 December. Mr Brown was arrested in September but released on bail last month and rearrested on Wednesday (25 November) in connection with the fire. Nineteen-year-old Jan Wilson, who worked for trainer David Barron, turned profession last winter. Jamie Kyne, 18, had won 29 winners this season and was employed by John Quinn.
